Key Account Manager - Up to £40k Northamptonshire

with company car at £450 per month Pension, BUPA, Bonus

Area: England, Wales and Scotland

Budget: £3-5m

My client is a distributor within the Hardware industry.

Job Description
Achieve and surpass the annual sales budget through the delivery of the agreed sales and marketing action plan and report this on a monthly basis.

Deliver excellent customer service and exhaust all new business opportunities with existing customers and seek new prospects continually.

Work with the internal team to execute the operational elements of the sales action plan which fulfils the financial targets that have been set.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure satisfaction by anticipating customer needs and building the commercial relationships whilst identifying further new business opportunities
1 Maintain the revenue and gross profit of each account ensuring they remain profitable in line with annual targets, exhausting all additional revenue opportunities
2 To work with the supply chain team and internal sales to ensure that service requirements are understood and implemented in line with customers’ expectations. This will involve allocating product and prioritising key lines in times of changeover, introduction, discontinuation and shortages. Forecasting will be required
3 Create and deliver the annual sales action plan and develop individual business plans for each key customer and prospect
4 Manage credit and product requirements to reduce risk to the business
5 To work with the marketing and product teams to deliver value and satisfaction to our customers that ultimately generate sales; this will involve a high level of business planning as well as building in contingencies to overcome obstacles
6 Report in a timely manner provide detailed information and statistics to the customer and the business
7 Commit to continuous professional development to ensure high standards for our customers and comply with health, safety and environmental standards to remain safe


Required experience and knowledge

Experience within a sales position which includes managing customers with a spend of over £1m and located within easy access of the Daventry head office
1 Demonstrable evidence of working with OEM’s/distribution businesses and it is desirable to be used to selling components rather than a service; excel at fact-based selling
2 Highly customer focused, able to anticipate and adapt to customer needs and expectations plus develop and maintain customer relationships.
3 IT literate and experienced in Microsoft Office software
4 Good communication skills including active listening to get the best from interactions with others and the ability to adapt personal communication style to achieve the required outcome
5 Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen
6 Able to self-motivate and a mind-set to overcome obstacles; able to meet deadlines
7 Able to manage multiple projects and a proven track record in customer growth
8 Demonstrate intimate knowledge of product range and brands previously worked for as an indicator of ability to deliver the company brand to the key customer group
9 Full driving licence
10 Educated to A level standard

Be in touch with the market to be able to deliver business growth in line with the key attributes of the brand

Manage risk to the business from the Key Accounts and execute the business plan financial goals in full
