MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER � Hampshire - �excellent
Mechanical Design Engineer with mechanical expertise to join a newly formed department and be involved in all aspects design, development and technical support. Requiring creativity and the ability to support the design team with mechanical expertise.
Our client is a leader at providing a comprehensive product design sourcing and manufacturing service to their clients.
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients Engineering Team to develop, design and support the Company�s products. This is a responsible position, within a newly formed department, requiring creativity and the ability to support the design team with mechanical expertise.
Responsibilities:
� To develop and design the electronic, mechanical and software components of the Company�s products as directed by the Technical Manager and according to the Stage 3 Specification
� To keep the Design Manager informed of the status, problems or deviation to the stage 3 Specification od any product that they are involved with
� To answer technical enquiries and give applications advice to customers
� To assist Sales & Marketing in formulating quotations for custom meter and software designs
� To provide the Design Manager with all the information to plan, budget and report on the Engineering Departments activities
� To work within the time and budgetary requirements set out by the Design Manager
� To ensure all new designs or changes to products are carried out according to company Operating Procedures
� To write and maintain the Build Standards and Specification Documents as required by Quality System
� To ensure that equipment used and tests carried out are done with due regard to Health & Safety
Requirements:
� Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering
� Knowledge of 3D modelling packages
� Experience in the use of Autocad
� Experience in the design of metal, plastic enclosures and mould tools
� Experience in Design for manufacture and product styling
� Significant experience in a Design & Development role
Desirable:
� Knowledge of Solidworks in-house
